NYC 80's flower shop

I decided to finally post some class work that has been keeping me so busy these past few weeks. The last assignment I had was to design a flower shop and owner set in New York city during the 80's. In terms of environment pieces it was a topic I would of never thought to tackle but it was a lot of fun researching reference.

And some quick early character ideations that I had fun with.

The Sartorialist sketches

I've been doing a bunch of quick sketches in photoshop, lately as a starting point I like to look through pictures on http://www.thesartorialist.com which I always find inspiring because of the variety of people. So I thought I'd post a few.

Snowed In

I'm back home in chicago, and all this past week I've been stuck inside due to snow an such things. But on the bright side my tablet is working great, and I should be in doors painting anyways.

Faces Around School

Before things get more hectic with finals coming up, I decided to post a few sketches of people I've seen around school.

Mucha Sketches and Practice

After a much needed reminder I am updating my blog. I've had a pretty busy summer and ended up going to the Czech Republic for a bit, where the great Alphonse Mucha happens to be from. So I spent as much time as I could going to different galleries to see his prints, paintings and even some of his sketchbooks, which are always inspiring. I couldn't help but do some quick sketches of his work.

I've also been playing around with Photoshop and decided to get some quick practice, and throw some color on another sketch of mine.
