Faces Around School

Before things get more hectic with finals coming up, I decided to post a few sketches of people I've seen around school.

Mucha Sketches and Practice

After a much needed reminder I am updating my blog. I've had a pretty busy summer and ended up going to the Czech Republic for a bit, where the great Alphonse Mucha happens to be from. So I spent as much time as I could going to different galleries to see his prints, paintings and even some of his sketchbooks, which are always inspiring. I couldn't help but do some quick sketches of his work.

I've also been playing around with Photoshop and decided to get some quick practice, and throw some color on another sketch of mine.

Random Update

I haven't posted anything in awhile so I thought I would, just some random sketches and my character design for 115 to stay relevant :)

Winter Break

Over the start of winter break I spent a little over a week traveling around China, which was great. While there it's fun to do some shopping where I found some cute little sketchbooks and one filled with tone paper! which I was very excited about.

Also it is Youri Dekker's birthday! so I decided to post a little caricature I did of him HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

Some Sketchbook Pages from Summer

Over the summer I ended up going to a couple of art museums and sketched at them, these ones are from when I was in Madrid.

Pen Studies

I've been trying to draw more in pen lately to get more comfortable with it; so I did some portrait masterwork studies all from different favorite artists of mine. Here are a few that I had alot of fun doing.  : )

Shedd Aquarium

This past week a certain fellow artist (Youri Dekker)came to visit me in Chicago and we decided to go practice sketching animals from life at the shedd aquarium downtown which was alot of fun and explains why my sketchbook is now filled with fish.

and this was just a cute father and daughter looking at the fish:)
